Volunteering

Volunteers are very welcome in our classroom, but we understand that everyone has busy schedules.  It would be appreciated if you do want to come in and help out if you could please email me so that I can schedule you and make sure your time is used effectively.

Special days, such as field trips or class parties, are days that would most benefit from an extra set of hands.  With that said, our classroom is a busy one and can only hold so many bodies.  If your offer is declined, know that it is done with a heavy heart and the hope that you will offer again in the future.

Please note, all volunteers in the classroom or on field trips MUST have an up to date criminal record and child welfare check as per school policy.  Please let me know if you would like application forms sent home with your child.

Field Trips

We plan several field trips that are both fun and educational for the children, and usually fit with the topic we are studying at the time.  Field trips may be held with the other classes to minimize the cost of bussing.

We often need parent volunteers to ensure our field trips are a success.  If you are able to volunteer, please complete the permission form and let me know promptly.  Many field trips have a limited amount of space for parents and we will attempt to ensure that all parents have the opportunity to attend at least one field trip if they wish.

We hope to have a number of in-school and out-of-school field trips this year covering a wide range of topics.  Below are some field trips we hope to be able to have this year.  As field trips are planned and confirmed, dates will be posted here and on the calendar.

  • St. Albert Parish Mass - Advent Mass & New Life Celebration

  • Ski Trip at Rabbit Hill

  • Swimming at Fountain Park Pool

  • Building Things - Sailors and Sailboats (In-school)

  • Little White School House & Grain Elevators

  • Arbor Day

  • St. Albert Bowling Alley
